H-1B eligibility: all professionals are eligible for the
H-1B if you have a Bachelor’s degree in the area of the offered employment and
if the job offered requires a Bachelor’s degree.

Registered Nurses are
not eligible for the H-1B
except for certain jobs which require a BSN. |
| An
employer may hire the H-1B holder for part-time work. However, the H-1B holder may only work for the employer who
sponsored the petition. |
REQUIREMENTS FOR A
US VISA

1. |
CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) exam is now
administered by ICHP. |
|
2. |
VISA SCREEN Certificate is issued after the exam is successful and the
nurse’s credentials are evaluated.

TOEFL EXAM
Examination (3 parts)
This is the English exam. There is a written and an oral exam.
If you get a low score, you must
re-take the exam.
When you take the exam, you must
designate 9988 so the results will be sent to the ICHP, International Commission
on Healthcare Professions. The ICHP
will send you the CGFNS Visa Screen certificate when it receives your passing
scores on the English exam. You may be interviewed in person. |
