IMMIGRATION LAWYER PROVIDES
TIPS FOR
COMPUTER PROFESSIONALS
Computer
professionals who are applying for an H-1B visa will have few problems if
they prepare their file carefully in advance of filing:
|
|
1. |
Education credentials must be clear.
The degree must be a (reduced) copy of your actual degree;
transcripts should state the date and list each course taken for each
semester.
Degrees earned outside the United States must be evaluated by a
Credentials Evaluator to determine whether it meets the standard of a US
Bachelor’s degree. |
| 2. |
Include information about your college with your petition. |
| 3. |
Always include a copy of your High School Diploma/Certificate with the
date of graduation and the years attended. |
| 4. |
All documents must be in English. |
|
Calderon
Law Firm serves the client by preparing the H-1B Petition carefully before
filing to avoid the pitfall of an INS Request for Additional Information.
Calderon Law Firm works with a Credentials Evaluator to evaluate
your credentials before filing with INS.
Changing employers
If you are an H-1B holder changing employers
for any reason, be sure to obtain a letter from your current employer
stating your job title, duties, and salary.
H-1B PORTABILITY: under current law, you may
work for your new employer as soon as the new employer has filed your H-1B
petition and has a “proof of filing” to send to you.
